ARCH1101

ARCH1101

OFF Restaurant
This piece was conceived with the key brief of designing a restaurant in a beach escarpment as part of my Year 11 Design and Technology course. With this in mind I selected a cliff front as my location with the building protruding off the side creating unobstructed panoramic views of the ocean. Furthermore a selected region of the restaurant utilises double tempered glass as flooring to allow customers a vertical view of the ocean right beneath their feet, whilst simultaneously enjoying their meal.

Marina Bay Sands Hotel
The $5.5 billion dollar hotel houses 2561 luxury rooms and suites, with a spectacular rooftop infinity pool. The infinity pool allows for a scenic view of the Singapore skyline and Marina Bay. However the ambitious design of the building lead to the difficult task for the engineers: Arup and Parsons Brinkerhoff; which the highly experienced engineers labelling the project as "most difficult to carry out in the whole world". Nevertheless the coalescence of both engineering ingenuity and architectural innovation allowed for the conception of this masterpiece.

Ha Long Bay Island

Ha Long Bay is located on the north of Vietnam near capital city hanoi. The bay itself consists of 1600 individual limestone monolithic islands, some of which are accessible to visitors and locals alike. However of those 1600 I found this little island to be most interesting. Regardless of its miniature size relative to the other islands, its shape and secluded location made it stand out and have a sense of individualism.

Individual, Contemplate, Confident

Link, Stop, Distinct

Wood, Released, Rebellious
